During my Poly years, I would listen to the radio every morning on the way to school.
I still remember how I would chuckle to myself over Glenn and the FD's cheerful morning chatter, then look around to see if people thought I was nuts laughing to myself while walking or standing at a pedestrian crossing.
One of the best things about my mornings now is again the witty banter on various radio stations.
Since I've been away, I have no "loyalties" to any particular radio station... I simply channel surf on my phone till I find either a song I can jive inwardly to on the bus, or some interesting subject matter the DJs might be talking about.
I've certainly missed this aspect of "civilization"... back in MC, we didn't receive any radio channels worth listening to, and in Bangkok I frequently got irritated out of mind over how many million times the DJs would say "ka" or "kup" while talking.
(You know, when you just can't understand a language, your listening is merely superficial)
My favourite T-shirt at one point during Poly days was a black shirt that said in loud letters:
"NO MUSIC NO LIFE"
I often joked with friends that I had to plug into my source of life - my music (then cd or radio)...
So now, I am enjoying once again being plugged in to ear-entertainment...
In some ways, it's good to be home.
