Giving up dreams aren't always bad.
Because some dreams just aren't meant to be.
And by dreams, I mean illusions of expectations of what might actually make us happy.
Everything in life is fleeting, everything passes.
Like vapour.
Like the wind.
So while we need dreams to keep us holding on to life and to keep living life happily, we also need to let go of the dreams we can never realize on this earth - the ones that aren't meant to be.
When we do that, we also let go of our unrealistic expectations, and the anger that comes along with it - anger at the world for not letting us achieve our dreams... anger at the people who stand in the way of those dreams.
And in letting go, we are faced with a choice:
Where do we go from here?
Do we sit in petulant stubbornness, refusing to be happy,
mourning the loss of what could not be...?
Or do we give our expectations and dreams in total surrender...
to our Father...
with hands wide open to the sky
... and empty...
and say:
Take them all.
Make of them what You will.
Renew in me a clean heart.
Heal my soul.
Make me Yours again.
He is amazing.
Simply amazing.
And His view of all this... is so big and wide,
we cannot fathom what His plan is.
Who are we to gripe about the little things we can't get on this earth?
He knows what is good for us - those things that will last for all eternity.
So when you can't see where He is leading you...
Simply trust Him.
Trust His heart.
