There it is - the much sought after, infamous quest for happiness.
We all search for it.
Some unabashedly.
Some discreetly.
Some unconsciously.
Some even reluctantly.
I guess one could say that is a measure of a person.
The degree to which that person has learned how to live happily in a broken world.
Chatted with a new friend on Facebook just now.
It's quite interesting that these ideas are universal.
We all fight the same battles, get worn down by the same hurts and injustices in life...
and somehow think it is unique only to us.
That we are alone in this horrible plight.
But when we realize that we are alone yet together in this predicament, what kind of difference does that make?
I constantly try to hang on to those glimpses of wisdom that God has provided me with.
It really isn't easy... because being human, I so often get sidetracked by the silly little nitty gritty stuff in life that trips me up and gets me down.
But every so often, he sends me an "sms" to remind me of those epiphanies.
He promised me He would help me remember after all.
And He always keeps His promises.
Remember...
Thankfulness is the beginning of happiness.
Don't wait for something you think will make you happy.
Because you never know how long it will take to get that thing.
And you never know when it might be taken away from you.
Also, the want for "something more" practically guarantees that you WILL be unhappy.
Hence the reverse is also true - in giving up the wait and simply being appreciative of what you have, you will learn the true meaning of happiness.
So I thank you Father.
Once again.
You are immensely kind.
Wonderfully amazing.
Faithfully strong.
And mind-bogglingly loving.
In all things my lips shall praise Your name.

2 people hear.:
I agree with you Shiz....I'm really learning hard to cope up with things and to especially give thanks to Him with everything that's coming in my way. It's never easy to appreciate what we have in front of us because of our human nature but at least, we try our very best and I'm sure He knows it too =) I try to keep reminding myself that whatever comes my way, it's a blessing in disguise =)
*hugz*
Yup.... it's nice to know we have friends who share our (almost) exact sentiments too eh? ;)
