My kids often come to me with little cuts or bruises.
I think they expect me to freak out and coddle them or something.
Instead, I smile and say
"It'll be fine."
"Just don't scratch at it and it won't get worse."
Today, I added
"You know our body has a marvellous way of making magic - it heals itself!"
Lessons for life, no?
Yet... I appeal to the Great Healer.

Yes, kids yearn for attention just like grown-ups yearn for it too sometimes.. just differently, I suppose. Anyway, great lesson for the little ones ;)
Yeah... kids are pretty obvious about their wanting attention. I think adults want attention quite often... they're just more subtle about it? :p
